Photo of Elizabeth Kuzma

Elizabeth Kuzma received her MSW from the University of Pittsburgh in 1990 with a concentration in Children and Youth. She did extensive work in the Chemical Dependency field, working directly with adolescent and adult clients through private inpatient and outpatient organizations in the Pittsburgh area. She also worked for several years in the public sector, with a state pilot project that assured that clients who were on Medical Assistance, and receiving Chemical Dependency treatment were getting the best possible services from agencies that were being funded by the State MA system. When Elizabeth took a hiatus from her professional life to become a stay at home mom, her own children led her career to a different path. Both of her children had chronic illnesses. Elizabeth has run groups that aid parents in the adjustment of diagnoses and altering of life routines to accommodate family members with chronic illnesses. As a host for AOL, Elizabeth has also found a forum to support mothers with children of all ages as they do their best to raise their children in all different situations, particularly when dealing with chronic illnesses and diagnoses, and the affects that this has on the family as a whole.
