Elaine earned a B.A. degree at North Texas State University, in Denton, Texas 1980, and an M.S. degree in Counseling at Corpus Christi State University, Corpus Christi, Texas 1990. She worked at a psychiatric hospital during her LPC internship, and became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 1993. Elaine offers professional Christian counseling for mental health, relationships, women's issues, self esteem, grief and loss. As an elementary school counselor, she has assisted children with special needs or learning disabilities, gifted and talented students, and children with behavior problems. She has hands on experience with special education services and the legal aspects of the "ARD" Admission, Review & Dismissal process. Elaine enjoys helping parents and children cope with the everyday frustrations and challenges of school and family life. She loves children and has insight into their perspective of life and understands how their intricate minds think. Before counseling, Elaine taught 7th grade English and Language Arts in a gifted and talented program for 8 years. This is her 16th year of elementary school counseling.. Elaine lives in Victoria, Texas, loves cats and dogs, and has raised many little orphan animals over the years. She understands the close relationships people develop with their pets, and can assist those suffering grief and loss due to the death of their pet. |
