Dr. Jack Cockburn (pronounced Coburn) is a graduate of Texas Woman's University with a Doctorate in Marriage and Family issues. He also holds a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Seminary with an emphasis in Biblical languages. He has extensive personal and professional experience with blended families, chronic illnesses, and spiritual issues. In addition, he has worked in several hospital and medical clinic settings addressing chronic pain, disability and substance dependency. As a previous vice president of human resources for a communications firm, he appreciates the demands of the contemporary workplace and its influence on family life. He has served as Adjunct Professor at Texas Christian University, teaching at the graduate level in the area of addictions and substance abuse. He works within a Solution-Focused model which emphasizes strengths, competencies, and the power of exceptions even in the face of the toughest of circumstances. |
