John Wise is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Alabama. He earned his masters degree in counseling, with an emphasis in marriage and family counseling, from the University of Alabama in 1998. He is also an experienced Parent Project senior facilitator. During his nearly 10 years in the profession, John has worked in a variety of counseling settings including substance abuse, community mental health, elementary school, college and the legal system. His areas of interest include depression, anger management, adolescents and their families, parenting, relationships, personal growth, and spirituality. Mr. Wise believes counseling, in its basic form, is an active process where clients identify problem areas and develop strategies to resolve them effectively. John lives near Birmingham, Alabama with his daughter, one cat, and numerous fish. In his spare time, he enjoys music, reading, meditation, exercising and spending time with friends and family.
