COUNSELING
|
Kevin believes that the power to change your life is in your choices and perceptions, and that with support you can move from dis-ease to health and happiness. He also believes that the ultimate goal of counseling is not just moving from "unhealthy" to "normal", but going beyond to reach your optimum potential. The road to wellness seems an impossible journey sometimes, with the goal confusing and the map lost, but the path is already under your feet and success at life is within your reach. Kevin is a firm believer in using your thoughts (cognitive interventions) to change your life. He also expects active participation from his clients. Kevin is qualified and experienced in the full spectrum of mental and emotional disorders. He enjoys working with issues such as Stress and Anxiety, Relationship Issues, Mediation and Conflict Resolution, Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Decision Making and Effective Choices, Sexuality and Alternative Lifestyles, Anger Management, and Crisis Management. Kevin has a Masters of Education from Ohio University, is licensed in Ohio as a Professional Clinical Counselor with a Supervisory Endorsement, and has worked as Clinical Director, Assistant Director of Crisis Services, Sexual Abuse Treatment Coordinator, Clinical Coordinator of Substance Abuse & Mental Illness services, and Director of Mental Health & Chemical Dependency Services. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including past president of the Alpha Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota. He has completed Red Cross Disaster Relief Mental Health Services training. Kevin is 35 years old, has been married since December 2002 and is "father figure" to two wonderful children. He loves yoga and is learning decorative painting and gardening from his delightful wife. |
