Karin is currently in private practice in Buenos
Aires, Argentina, where she works primarily with couples and families,
but also with individuals. She has nearly two decades of experience with
family conflict, cultural adjustment problems, gender-related issues,
and identity, among others. She is also an intercultural counselor and
organizes workshops for expat spouses. A native of Belgium, Karin
resided in many countries including the US, Canada, and various European
and Latin American countries before settling down in Argentina. This
personal experience was responsible for shaping her professional
interest in intercultural issues. She enjoys working with individuals,
couples and families of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Karin earned
her BA from Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada), her MA from USIU (San
Diego, California), a postgraduate in Systemic Psychotherapy from the
Universidad de Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires, Argentina), and her PhD in
Psychology from the Universidad del Salvador (Buenos Aires, Argentina).
She is a university professor, a board member of the Buenos Aires
Association for Systemic Psychotherapy (ASiBA), and an associate of the
Center for Systemic Studies (Centro de Estudios Sistémicos). Karin is
fluent in a number of languages including English, Spanish, and Dutch,
among others. |
