“Hi, I’m Lourdes Barden, a spiritual counselor, consultant and peak performance coach for over 15 years. I chose to become a spiritual counselor because I wanted to help individuals find their happiness. I believe that we find our happiness when we learn to trust our natural instincts thus, allowing our God-given talents to flourish and our life plan to unfold. When who we are becomes clear to us, we find that peaceful feeling of inner contentment that we long for.” Lourdes has applied this basic life giving philosophy in a variety of venues. As a spiritual counselor and peak performance coach she has worked with many individuals unique in their passions and interests. She has also worked one to one with professional athletes from teams such as the Golden State Warriors, the UC Berkeley Women’s tennis team and Trinity College Basketball team. Lourdes has also been an executive consultant for major corporations such as, Hewlett Packard, Pacific Bell, Merrill Lynch, and Kaiser Permanente. She founded and directed the Center for Intuitive Development in California teaching meditation and intuitive development. Lourdes is currently the counselor at the Universal Ballet Academy (Formerly the Kirov Academy of Ballet) in Washington, DC and has extensive experience in working with teens, and their parents in guiding them to positively support their children through their own growth and self discovery. She is also the founder of Mommy Coaches, a consulting service that supports mothers to create and live a unique vision of their lives as mother. As a facilitator, Lourdes has led workshops and one day seminars on intuition development, stress reduction and movement therapy.  She was the original founder of Healing the Mother Wound and co-facilitator with Gordon Clay in the Family Reunion Workshops. Lourdes obtained her Masters Degree in Consulting Psychology from John F. Kennedy University in Orinda California. She is also a second degree Reiki Master and has studied and practiced intuitive counseling for the past 15 years. Lourdes believes that in order to be a good counselor you must thoroughly investigate your own inner psyche and find your own peace, so you can helps others find theirs. It is obvious when you meet her that she has walked the often difficult path of self growth and has experienced many of life’s “challenging” emotional terrains and feels comfortable traversing them as a guide with others. As a result her work is filled with joy and humor. Lourdes is honest, compassionate, and will challenge you with love. These simple ingredients are the catalyst that has led so many of her clients to powerful and lasting change. She lives with her husband in Washington DC, has a thriving practice, and is exploring the new adventure of being a mother to her beautiful new daughter Nourah.
