Mary is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. She graduated in 1981 from Purdue University with majors in Psychology and Community Health. In 1989, Mary received her MSEd in Counseling at Northern Illinois University. She has worked as a psychotherapist in a community mental health center, a small non-profit clinic, and in private practice. Mary's clinical specialties include anxiety, depression, trauma, panic, grief, bi-polar disorders, ADHD, learning disabilities, marriage, parenting, and adoption. Her clients range from Developmentally Disabled adults and persons with severe mental illness to individuals who are simply seeking guidance and support for personal growth. Mary has a non-judgmental approach to her work, and believes a collaborative, respectful approach to treatment is most facilitative. She is currently completing her doctoral degree in Counseling, and also enjoys consulting, teaching, presenting workshops or seminars, and providing clinical supervision. Mary approaches her work from an "existential and humanistic" perspective, which means that she believes in the power of each person to survive, grow and feel comfortable with their life choices.
