Ron Austin is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. Originally from the Midwest, Ron has worked in the San Francisco Bay area and Sacramento Valley regions. His unique experience makes him well suited for traditional individual, couples and group therapy as well as more modern online chat, email education, and phone counseling. Ron has more than a decade of experience consulting with courts, juvenile halls, social services, and non-profit agencies. He enjoys helping families of all backgrounds navigate adolescent behavior, juvenile justice, bereavement and blended family situations. Ron has formal training and experience in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD), anger management techniques, and drug and alcohol education. His best talents are “keeping families connected.” Mr. Austin is a member of The California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, CAMFT. Ron is also a member of the Sacramento Red Cross Disaster Action Team. Ron has had success providing individual and group treatment to children incarcerated in various San Francisco Bay area and Sacramento area juvenile halls. Mr. Austin has empowered those who have been victims of sexual abuse and has helped many through the grieving process. Ron has developed approaches to helping children increase their self-esteem and parents lower their anxiety. Mr. Austin believes brief counseling, as little as 5 sessions, can be very effective when families, couples, and individuals are experiencing stress or chaos in their lives.
