Sharon is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee with a Mental Health Service Provider certification and holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. She is a trained EMDR therapist and practices extensively with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Ego State Work, Play Therapy, and Energy Work. She has expertise in dealing with depression, anxiety, and Asperger's Spectrum Disorders. Her areas of specialty are trauma and abuse, behavior disorders, grief, and crisis management. Currently, Sharon has a private practice in which she incorporates art and music into her sessions with adults and children. She also works with a broad spectrum of mental disorders, P.T.S.D., anger issues, child placement, and foster care issues. Sharon is a trained crisis interventionist and a member of the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. A background in special education helps her understand the connections in school, home and family interaction. Sharon works with each client to help them find strength and health within their own life. She listens to her clients to help them use their natural strengths toward achieving their full potential. A large portion of her practice deals with cultural diversity, including lifestyle issues. She teaches meditation and uses Reiki energy work. Sharon is the mother of two sons. |
